In the new role, Betancourt will lead engineering strategy as Seek AI continues to develop its Generative AI-based platform for data teams and meet growing demand.

Seek AI, a developer of AI-powered intelligent data solutions, announced today that Edward Betancourt has been hired as its new vice president (VP) of engineering, effective May 1st. This year, Seek AI continues to invest in expanding its executive team.

A seasoned engineering leader and startup co-founder, Betancourt brings 10+ years of experience in leading product, full stack engineering, data and QA teams to this role. As the VP of Engineering, Betancourt will be responsible for overseeing the architecture, development, and security of Seek AI’s web platform and products, managing the engineering organization and leading all aspects of the development lifecycle.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Edward to the team.” said Sarah Nagy, Co-Founder and CEO of Seek AI. “Edward’s rich background in data security is a natural extension of our commitment to delivering value to our customers while maintaining the highest possible standard of data security.”

“I’m delighted to join the team at Seek AI at such a terrific stage of growth for the company,” said Betancourt. “Seek AI is at the forefront of making data more accessible, effective, and actionable for anyone in an organization. I look forward to accelerating our technology leadership in this industry.”

Betancourt joins Seek AI from Cascade, a no-code data app toolkit built for the cloud, where he was the vice president of engineering, working on implementing a multi-tiered stateful architecture for data analysis, automation and visualization. Additionally, Betancourt managed the startup’s enterprise customer relationships and their end to end compliance process.

Previously, Betancourt served as the vice president of engineering and interim CISO at Numerator, a marketing intelligence firm, overseeing the implementation of their flagship business intelligence platform, while overseeing security across the entire business. Betancourt has also acted as an advisor and an investor for various VC-funded LATAM startups, including Yuno, BrainHi, Skootel and DaVinci Wearables.
